Spain's civil aviation authority has granted Vueling traffic rights to serve two cities in Saudi Arabia.

The Barcelona-based low-cost carrier has been assigned two out of a total of five weekly frequencies to Dhahran or Jeddah by the Spanish Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Vueling has not confirmed whether or when it plans to start a service to Saudi Arabia.

Innovata schedules data shows that Saudia currently operates a Jeddah-Madrid service.

Separately, the DGCA has cleared Iberia to operate an additional third weekly frequency from Spain to Angola.
