Brazilian carrier WebJet has appointed its VP of operations Júlio Perotti as its new CEO with immediate effect, following the departure of Fabio Godinho from the carrier.
WebJet, which is in the process of being acquired by Gol, said Godinho has left the airline to "take on new challenges" but will still take part in the transition process of WebJet.
"Perotti's nomination as CEO is in recognition of his work since May 2007, when he joined WebJet, where he served as VP of planning and VP of operations," said Gol.
Gol and WebJet have also entered into an interline agreement, which will allow Gol to sell WebJet's air fares.
"One of the great advantages of this agreement is that clients transferring from Gol flights to WebJet flights will only have to check in once and send their baggage to the final destination, as well as for WebJet passengers in connections with Gol flights," said Marcelo Bento, Gol's alliance and profitability officer.
Gol announced its acquisition of WebJet in July and is awaiting approval of the purchase from Brazil's anti-trust authority CADE.
