WestJet has appointed Rocky Wiggins as executive vice president and chief information officer, effective 2 June.
Wiggins joins from Sun Country Airlines, where he was chief information officer since 2012.
"Our information technology systems play a pivotal role in our ability to evolve and grow in the highly competitive airline space, and we look forward to having Rocky on board to lead us in this critical area," says WestJet chief executive Gregg Saretsky.
Wiggins had also worked with AirTran Airways as chief information officer before joining Sun Country. Prior to his time at AirTran, he was vice president for delivery management at Sabre Airline Solutions, which provides the platform used by WestJet.
He replaces Cheryl Smith in the chief information officer role at WestJet. Smith joined the Canadian carrier in 2011 on a two-year contract.
Wiggins will relocate from Georgia to Calgary, says the airline.
