WestJet will begin non-stop seasonal service between Toronto Pearson International airport and Phoenix Sky Harbor International on 26 October.

The Calgary-based low-cost carrier will fly the route until 25 April 2015 with a Boeing 737 aircraft.

Air Canada flies between one and two flights per day between Toronto and Phoenix, Innovata schedules show.

More than 500,000 Canadians visit Arizona annually, with Ontario-based travellers making up half of that number, says WestJet.

"We continue to bring low fares to more and more markets," says Paul Harvalias, WestJet's vice-president, revenue. "Our introductory pricing combined with our remarkable guest experience invites the whole family to take advantage of WestJet's newest non-stop route Toronto-Phoenix route."
