WestJet posted a 9% increase in traffic year-over-year in March on a 7% rise in capacity.
The carrier's load factor increased 1.4 percentage points to 86.2%.
"We are very pleased with the market strength we've seen in March and system-wide demand remains healthy. The market has absorbed our growth and increased fare levels have helped offset higher fuel costs," says the airline's president and CEO Gregg Saretsky.
In the first quarter of 2012, the airline reported a 10% rise in traffic year-over-year on a 8.8% increase in capacity.
WestJet's load factor rose one percentage point to 83%.
