Electric taxi developer WheelTug has partnered with the air navigation service provider of the Czech Republic to develop ground procedures for aircraft with electric wheel-drive systems.

WheelTug, part of the Gibraltar-registered engineering firm Borealis Exploration, has inked a preliminary co-operation agreement with Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic (ANS CR), covering both the development of ground procedures as well as airport staff training.

The company WheelTug has previously conducted several tests of its electric nose wheel drive system at Prague airport.

WheelTug aims to certify its electric taxi system in the second half of 2013, before it enters service with Israeli airline El Al.
