Wizz Air will open its crew training centre in Budapest, Hungary in March 2013.
The Wizz Air training centre will feature an Airbus A320 full flight simulator, aircraft cabin mock up facilities and a fire fighting trainer, representing an investment of €15 million ($20 million) over a period of 10 years.
The equipment will be located at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International airport, allowing Wizz Air to carry out over 90% of its crew training in the Hungarian capital.
Wizz Air has selected Amsterdam-based flight training organisation Flight Simulation Company (FSC) to provide its crew training centre and flight simulator.
"This summer we will have an international workforce of 500 pilots and 1,000 cabin crew to be trained on an ongoing basis," says Wizz Air chief executive Jozsef Varadi. "These numbers could double in five-to-six years as a result of Wizz Air's continuous expansion."
