US carrier World Airways has signed a deal to operate a Boeing 747-400 freighter on a full-time basis for Asiana Airlines from September.

Under the agreement, World will provide capacity for Asiana's cargo network, connecting its hub at Seoul Incheon with West Coast markets in the US.

Brian Bauer, World's chief commercial officer, said: "World Airways welcomes the opportunity to fly for Asiana and build on the close cooperation we have shared for more than 10 years."
