Xiamen Airlines plans to launch services to Jakarta in September and will begin codesharing with Garuda Indonesia in August.
It will start four times weekly Zhengzhou-Fuzhou-Jakarta and thrice weekly Zhengzhou-Xiamen-Jakarta services on 12 and 14 September respectively, says the carrier.
Starting in August, the airline will begin a free sale codeshare on three out of nine daily Singapore-Jakarta services operated by Garuda.
Xiamen Airlines adds that it plans to resume services to Bangkok during the winter schedule and is eyeing the possibility of operating a Xiamen-Manila service, but has not specified a timeline.
Flightglobal's FlightMaps Analytics suggests that Xiamen Airlines will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the two routes to Jakarta. It will be the only operator on the Fuzhou-Jakarta route, and will compete with Air China on the Xiamen-Jakarta route.
