The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has approved Yunnan King Group's application to start an airline based in the southwest Yunnan province.

The proposed airline, Ruili Airways, will have a registered capital of yuan (CNY) 600 million ($97.2 million), and will be wholly owned by the company, says the CAAC.

Ruili Airways will be based in Kunming's Changshui International Airport. It plans to operate domestic passenger and cargo services using Boeing 737-700 or -800 aircraft.

Yunnan King Group is based in the province's Ruili city. Its main businesses include tourism development, hotel services, engineering and construction.
