(25 Oct 2007) Here are the first pictures of Singapore Airlines (SIA) Airbus A380 as it completed the first commercial flight with a service between its Singapore base and Sydney in Australia.
The flight, numbered SQ380, departed Singapore’s Changi airport as scheduled at 08:00 local time on 25 October 2007 and the aircraft touched down in Sydney shortly before 17:30 after a flight of nearly 7h 30min.

(28 July 2008) Emirates Airline president Tim Clark says he is satisfied with Airbus's efforts to prepare the airline's first A380, ahead of the handover and service entry this week, with the aircraft coming in 1t lighter than expected. Speaking to Flight International at the unveiling of a one-third scale A380 advertising model at London Heathrow, Clark said the delivery process of the airline's first A380 (MSN011) went "like clockwork".

PICTURES: Qantas puts its first A380 into service
(20 Oct 08) Australia's Qantas Airways has put its first Airbus A380 into commercial service, becoming the third operator of the ultra-large type. The Oneworld alliance carrier says its first commercial A380 flight departed Melbourne at 11:15 today and the aircraft is scheduled to land in Los Angeles at 07:30 where it will be met by dignitaries and celebrities. Qantas took delivery of its first A380 last month and had been using it since then for staff training. Following the inauguration of Melbourne-Los Angeles services today, it will from 24 October operate the aircraft on some of its Sydney-Los Angeles services and from January will use it for some of its services to London via Singapore.

PICTURE: Air France takes first A380
(30 Oct 2009) Air France this morning took delivery of its first Airbus A380, the first European carrier to receive the type. The aircraft has the highest-density seating arrangement so far selected with 538 seats in three classes. Registered F-HPJA, the aircraft will make the short delivery flight to Air France's base at Paris Charles de Gaulle today before entering commercial service, on the route to New York JFK, on 23 November.

Lufthansa takes delivery of first A380
(19 May 2010) Lufthansa has taken delivery of its first Airbus A380 during a ceremony at Airbus' Hamburg facility.
The 526-seat aircraft is to be flown to Lufthansa's hub at Frankfurt today, in preparation for training flights.

Malaysia Airlines' first A380 delivery delayed a third time
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has had the delivery of its first Airbus A380 aircraft delayed a third time by the airframer. The first aircraft will now arrive in the first half of 2012 instead of August 2011, says a MAS spokeswoman. MAS has six A380s on order.
