History

In April 2004, ANA became the launch customer for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, placing orders for 50 and taking options on 50 more. It is set to receive the first aircraft shortly.

In March 2008, ANA became the launch customer for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet, with an order for 15 MRJ90s and options on 10 more.

IATA figures for the financial year ending 31 March 2011 showed that, in June 2010, ANA had overtaken JAL to become Japan biggest airline, by passengers carried.

In April 2011 ANA launched its transpacific joint venture with Star Alliance partners Continental Airlines and United.
