"Aeroplane"—A New All-British Fabric. A NEW British aeroplane fabric has been introduced by Messrs. Rogers Bros, under the name " Aeroplatte," and a speciality is being made of a French grey shade for colouring. This colouring, it is thought, will be specially serviceable for general use and have decided advantages from the military standpoint, being nearly invisible when aloft after sunset. The' 'Aeroplatte " fabrics are manufactured in this country from the finest Egyptian yarns and can be obtained in the following weights and strengths. They are supplied proofed or unproofed as required so that anyone who wishes to have the proofing executed by a special process can obtain " Aeroplatte " as a basis for treatment. Rogers Bros, themselves also undertake proofing either by the rubber or anti-rubber treatment to order. Approxi- Strength Test on mate Good brand Machine. RECENTLY we mentioned the good work being done at Beaulieu by Messrs. McArdle and Drexel on the flying grounds which they have secured near Brockenhurst Station. They have now got their aviation school into full swing, and can accommodate in what they claim to be the finest flying ground in the country practically an unlimited number of aviators and their machines. WE omitted to mention last week, in connection with the photograph under the above title on page 449, that the whole of the sheds shown in the photograph, as well as a number which are not visible in the picture, were designed and erected by Mr. William Harbrow, the well-known iron and wood building manufacturer, of South Bermondsey.
