THE BRITISH UNDER this heading are published each week the official announce ments of appointments and promotions affecting the Royal Naval Air Service and the Royal Flying Corps (Military Wing) and Central Flying School. These notices are not duplicated. By way of instance, when an appointment to the Royal Naval Air Service is announced by the Admiralty it is published forthwith, but subse quently, when it appears in the LONDON GAZETTE, it is not repeated in this column. Royal Naval Air Service. THE following appeared among the Admiralty announcements of the 7th inst.:— Capt. (graded as Wing-Comraander) F. R. Scarlett, graded as Wing-Captain, with seniority of Oct. 4th. The following entries have been made : Major A. O. French-Brewster (Motor Machine Gun Service) as Acting Flight-Lieutenant, with seniority of Oct. 4th, and appointed to " President," additional, for R.N.A.S. H. W. Evens as Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant, for temporary service, with seniority of Oct. 6th, and appointed to " President," additional. A.
