These notices are not duplicated. By way of instance, when an appointment to the Royal Naval Air Service is announced by the Admiralty it is published forthwith, but subsequently, when it appears in the LONDON GAZETTE, it is not repeated in this column. Royal Naval Air Service THE following appeared among the Admiralty announce ments of August 17th :—• Temporary commissions have been granted to the following, seniority Aug. 16th :—Lieutenant (R.N.V.R.) : G. The following appeared among the Admiralty announce ments of August 19th :— R, W. Springfield granted a temporary commission as Sub- Lieutenant, R.N.V.R., and appointed to the " President," additional, for R.N.A.S., to dated Aug. 27th.
