Plan showing position ol New Club House, 3, Clifford Street, New Bond Street, W. Fatal Accidents. AN inquest was held at Woolwich on January 20th onLieut. A. Ravcnscroft, R.F.C., who died on January 16th. The evidence showed that whilst flying the officer, who hadhad considerable experience of flying, attempted to alight in a field, but the aeroplane went too far, crashed into Rometrees, and overturned. Lieut. Ravenscroft's head struck a tree-stump, which fractured his skull. It was stated that there appeared to be nothing wrong with the machine, aadapparently Lieut. Ravenscroft made an error of judgment in landing. A verdict of " Accidental Death " was rcturaed.A verdict of " Accidental Death " was also returned at aa inquest on January 20th on Air-Mechanic R. Stanley, whowas killed while flying. Evidence was given that Stanley, who was an experienced pilot, rose well, but in turning at alow altitude failed to bank, with the result that the aeroplaM nose-dived to earth. i
