CAPTAIN ALBERT BALL, D.S.O., M.C., R.F.C., who is credited with having brought down 43 German machines, has been missing since the evening of May 7th. He ascended with 10 others, and at 8 o'clock he was observed not far over the enemy lines, flying perfectly ; the light was then failing and he was not seen subsequently. According to one report he is a prisoner in German hands and in hospital wounded.' 476
