Marshal Foch had also been nominated, but as it was considered very improbable that he would allow his name to be put forward at present, his nomination was withdrawn. French Aero Club Honours Famous Flyers *AT a banquet on November 7th celebrating the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Aero Club of France,the Club's gold medal was awarded to the following :—Lieut.- Col. Bishop, Lieut. Coiffard (killed), Lieut. Willy Coppens,Capt. Mezergues, Lieut. Roger Delaitre, Lieut. Garaud, Under-Lieut. Forest, and Adjutant Leon Vitalis. Amongthose present at the banquet were Lieuts. Fonck and Nun- geaser. Interned in Switzerland THE following officer, who was a prisoner in Germany, has arrived in Switzerland for internment :— Lieut. W. H. Green, King's (Liverpool Regt.), attd. R.F.C. German Aeroplane in Holland ACCORDING to the Telegraafa. German aeroplane descended on November 4th near Gempel in Holland, and both occupants were interned. Revolt at German Air Station IT was reported from Cdpenhagen on November 7ththat the German aeroplane station in Aabenraa (Apen- rade), Northern Schleswig, had been occupied by soldiers-and the airmen arrested* An Austrian Aeroplane Works Destroyed.At the end of last week it was reported that the aero- plane works at Wiener Neustadt, the largest in Austria, hadbeen destroyed by the Czecho-Slovak troops. Air Fighting in October COLLATING the figures given in the various officialcommuniques it appears that 1,075 were reported down on all the fighting fronts during Ithe month of October, as comparedwith 1,142 in the previous month. In addition 104 observa- tion balloons were destroyed against 171 in September. TheBritish reported 396 Germans destroyed or captured and 128 driven down out of control with 209 British missing ; theAmericans destroyed 94 Germans with 18 of their own machines missing ; the French destroyed 218 Germans, andthe Belgians one. On the Italian front the British destroyed 24 enemy machines, and seven wer^ driven down out ofcontrol, while 13 British were missing ; the Italians brought down 16.
