An Airship Claims Prize IN the Prize Court last week, before the Right Hon. Sir Henry Duke, President, a claim was heard in respect of t,he destruction of the U.B. 115. Lieut. Walter Thomas, Arthur Bird, D.S.C", said that on September 29, 1918, he was in command of H.M.S. Qitse, and was acting as escort to convoy T.N. 9, with the following vessels: H.M. Airship " R. 29" (Flight Lieut. Godfrey M. Thomas), H.M.S. Star (Lieut. Ronald Neild Stuart, V.C., D.S.O.), and six armed trawlers. The " R. 29," when she was in lat. 55.1.3 N., "long. 1.22 \V,, signalled that an oil patch was rising below her. Steps were at once taken to -surround the position, and bombs and depth charges were dropped, followed* by a vigorous bombardment. The airship later released a smoke ball and a vessel followed it and dropped other depth charges. The position was marked by a buoy, and oil c >vered a large areaS^pund for 36 hours after. Afterwards a.i obstruction was fourN^on the bottbm, and it was believed to be the wreck of the U.6^115, which carried a crew of 37. The President awarded ^185. It is the intention of the Company to maintain a fixedprice-list quoting definite prices for aeroplanes and engines from which a rebate will be quoted to all British AircraftManufacturers, British merchants and firms dealing in aircraft accessories and components. In addition to aircraft and engines, there are immensestocks of magnetos, plugs, instruments, accumulators, electrical outfits, ball bearings, bolts, nuts, washers, etc., etc.All these have been manufactured to the Government specifi- cations and are of the highest grade. 558
