OCTOBER 2, 1924 FLYING ACROSS SPAIN : The top picture is an aerial view of typical Spanish country, over which Alan Cobham had to fly during his recent London-Tangier-London flight. Below is another aerial view showing cloud banks hanging over the coast of Spain. It^was this flimsy barrier that prevented Cobham from taking the ^direct route over the centre of Spain on his return trip, and forced him to follow the east coast route. 633 !
