DECEMBER 23, 1926 m a 0 0 0 H a 0 H a H 0 0 0 El H S H H H H The L.G.L.32C.1, with "Jupiter" engine, was ex- hibited in a some- what alarming attitude. [" FLIGHT " Photograph 0 0 0 E 0 H L [" FLIGHT " Copyright Sketch The shock-absorbers on the Loire-Gourdou-Leseurremachines are enclosed in fairings, the crank shown being intended toprevent axle and fairings from turning. The fuselages are very long and slender, a fact that mayhelp to improve the effectiveness of the rather small tails. The wing bracing struts have short steadying struts to thewing spar, a feature of which we personally are not very much in favour. A feature of the L.G.L. undercarriages is that the shockabsorbers are enclosed in streamline casings, a short crank anchored to the undercarriage leg preventing the axle andcasings from turning, as shown in one of our sketches. The two L.G.L. machines were not exhibited with armament, but this consists of two fixed guns firing through the pro- peller, and two more fixed guns mounted on the wing andfiring above the propeller. The wing structure has been specially stiffened against the recoil of the two wing guns. MORANE- SAULNIER THE three parasol monoplanes exhibited on this stand wereall of the same general type, the main differences being in the power plants and, in the case of the 35 EP 2, wire bracingabove and below the wing, as compared with the rigid strut bracing of the other two types. The machines are verypopular in France for school work and touring, and this firm has had such lengthy experience of this class of work thatit may be expected to know exactly what is required. The 00000000 0 0 E 0 0 The Morane- Saulnier (exhibit consisted of three parasol mono- planes, of which the type 132, with 120 h.p. Salmson, is shown in the foreground.
