We are looking forward to the arrival of our new slotted " Moth " nextweek, and with two club machines in use again we trust that there will be a large increase in flying hours. On Wednesday, Mr. Douglas, of Guards' Depot, Canterbury, did a success-ful first solo, after 6 hrs. 30 mins. dual, and made a perfect landing. This is the third ab initio pupil to l>e launched in three weeks working, and we expectto launch two more this week. There is still a vacancy for additional members, and the club is in need offurther capital to purchase a second machine. Although we did 16 hrs. 10 mins. in the period covered by this report, thereport does not include Sunday, 10th instant, which was taken in last week's report, and, as usual, there was no flying on Tuesday. We have suffered from the general complaint, i.e., high winds, all this week,but " A " pilots and soloists have managed to get up during the lulls. D. Parkinsonentertained the people with an exhibition of aerobatics, after whioh, in com- pany with Dr. Dixou, some excellent photographs were obtained.
