JANUARY 10, 1929 am* wvvwivwvw; IN RECOGNITION OF MERIT Wright Aeronautical Corporation, makers of the famous "Whirl- wind" engine, wished to produce an engine suitable for light air- craft. It is highly significant that of all the many types available in the World, they have chosen the de Havil- land "GIPSY." Ar- rangements have been made whereby the "GIPSY" engine will be manufactured in America under licence by the Wright Aero- nautical Corporation. It will be called the "WRIGHT GIPSY." THE 85 100 H.P. D.H. GIPSY ENGINE The House of de Havilland holds six of the seven Inter- national Records now standing to the credit of Great Britain, of which three were gained by the "GIPSY"—the only British light aero engine to hold World's Records. The House of Wright supplied the "Whirlwind" engines used by Col.
