FLIGHT, APRIL 11, 1929 Remarkable Endurance Test on Pratts Aconvincing test of reliability has just beencarried out by the De Havilland Company.Flying exclusively on Pratts, a standard Gipsy Moth machine has completed 25,344 miles at a speed of 88 m.p.h. The engine was sealed by an official of the Air Ministry A.I.D., and remained untouched throughout the flight apart from routine attention and the changing of a magneto. The petrol consumption, including warming-up, and many miles of taxying, worked out at 4.7 gallons per hour.
