FLIGHT, FEBRUARY 27, 1931 -\w a t his pass, Wood seemed not at all well placed, fornr "° was no olear path to the goal. But he started to jink*fr<; snipe- Man after man of the Air Force went for himd seemed -ixrat to bring off a successful tackle. But there - no force in the arms which pawed at Wood's waist andTes He sapped through them and went on. It ought not have happened, and it was an astonishing thing to watch,v,°it it was certainly a brilliant piece of work by Wood. He nded up with a fourth try in a very good position, from•vhich Goring had no difficulty in placing a goal. This brought tie Navy'F score up to 16—0. In the last few minutes, Bader broke through and took,, t, ball up to the Navy's 25. A free kick to the Air Forcelid not find touch, and ground was lost as a result. The anal incident of the game was another run by Ford, who•\a- only bundled into touch just in time to save another ure. Scotland might do worse than try Ford in the doubtful, ice at right centre against Ireland next Saturday. He is a rv strong runner, and his defence is very much better thanat of G. P. S. Macpherson.
