I May-June, 1932 s ss The Fighting round Mosul IN the recent fighting in the district of Barzan round Mosul, in which the " Wapitis " of No. 30 B.S. have been co-operating with the Iraq army, and in the course of which Sgt. Hudson of that squadron was killed by fire from the ground, it is stated by The Times correspondent at Baghdad that the part played by the Royal Air Force is understood to have been more important than the brief references in the official communiques would lead one to believe. The recalcitrant Sheikh Ahmad has evacuated Barzan village and retired to the mountains, and many families who had fled from villages have now returned. June-July, 1932 Will be com pleted " Puss Moths " for Iraq's Army THREE " Puss Moths " equipped for military duties, with racks for light bombs under the wings, left Hatfield aerodrome on April 12 for Baghdad, where they will be used by the Iraq Army. That army has hitherto used Gipsy " Moths." These machines are being flown out by Fit. Lts. G. Carter and H. E. Forrow, who have been seconded for duty with the Iraq Army, and by Lt. Jewad, an Iraqi officer. Lt. Natiq, an Iraqi Army pilot, together with his observer, was killed by a crash in a " Moth " when co-operating with the ground troops against the Kurdish rebels in the Barzan area of Mosul district. 365
