652 FLIGHT. JUNE 18, 1936. KING'S CUP RACE ENTRIES Twenty-eight Machines of Fifteen Types : All Gipsy Engines 1 D.H. Dragonfly the Only Biplane THE Royal Aero Club has now announced the final list oi entries for the King's Cup air race, which starts from Hatfield aerodrome, the eliminating contest taking place on Friday, July 10, and the actual race en Saturday, July 11. The eliminating contest totals a distance of 1,224 miles and will be flown over a 612 miles' circuit, with controls at Hatfield, Whitchurch (Bristol) and Shoreham, and turning points at Norwich, Nottingham, Salisbury and Coventry (Anstey). As the regulations this year stipulate that 50 per cent, of the starters in each class which finish in the fastest time will pass into the final, there will only be fifteen machines in the actual race, viz., 6 from Class A, 7 from Class B, and 2 from Class C. The regulations provided for a maximum of ten from each class, but the number of entries in any class has not been great enough to bring this clause into effect. Editorial comment appears on page 640. Class.* B A B B C B C A B A A C A A A B C A B B B A B A B B A B Registra tion Marks. New Oil Process SOME remarkable claims are made for an oil-processing treatment recently introduced to this country. Known as " Hi-Duti" concentrate, it is said to increase the film- strength of any pure mineral oil to between 100 per cent, and 1,200 per cent., while other desirable qualities are likewise enhanced. The licensees, Delta Processed Oil Products, Ltd.. of 1, Albemarle Street, London, W.i, state that these clam" have been substantiated by tests carried out on aero and otner engines by the Air Ministry. "Hi-Duti" concentrate ha= proved extremely popular in the United States.
