Flight. September 3, 1936 Supplement iv THE photo - diagram shows the simplicity of a Dowty hydraulic installation for either retractable under carriage or flap actuation. The system is comprised of (A) a combined hand pump and oil reservoir, (B) Control valve, and a pair of operating jacks incorporating (C) automatic locks. Connections are made by standard aircraft pipe lines and A.G.S. Fittings. Ordin ary mineral oil is used in the system. Installations can be built up from standard DOWTY components or designed specially to meet individual requirements.
