LOOK AT THIS LIST: ^ ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA-ANOTHER NEW RECORD 5 days 21 hours 3 minutes—October, 1936. Miss Jean Batten. Previous records (Mr. H. F. Broadbent, 6 days 21 hours 19 minutes, and Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, 7 days 4 hours 50 minutes) were likewise made in Percival Gulls. ENGLAND TO NEW ZEALAND First flight ever made — just over 11 days — October, 1936. Miss Jean Batten. Two aircraft only have ever flown from England to New Zealand — both have been "Gulls" (Miss Jean Batten and Mr. L. E. Clark). ENGLAND TO JOHANNESBURG AIR RACE Won by Mr. C. W. A. Scott and Mr. G. Guthrie in a Percival "Vega" Gull—September 29th to October 1st, 1936. Actual time under 53 hours. ENGLAND TO CAPE TOWN 3 days 6 hours 25 minutes — May 4th to 8th, 1936. Mrs. Amy Mollison. CAPE TOWN TO ENGLAND 4 days 16 hours 18 minutes — May 10th to 15th, 1936. Mrs. Amy Mollison. ENGLAND - CAPE TOWN - ENGLAND Round Trip n days (including 3 days spent in Cape Town) — May 4th to 15th, 1936. Mrs. Amy Mollison. ATLANTIC EAST TO WEST FLIGHT Record Flight East to West — September 4th to 5th, 1936. Mrs. Beryl Markham. ENGLAND TO AFRICA AND BACK IN ONE DAY 14 hours 30 minutes (actual flying time) — June 17th, 1935. Capt. E. W. Percival. ENGLAND TO SOUTH AMERICA 2 days 13 hours — November nth to 13th, 1935. Fastest time ever made, irrespective of size or power of machine. Miss Jean Batten. KING'S CUP AIR RACE, 1936 Won by Mr. Charles Gardner in a Percival "Vega Gull." Speed Record (for the third year in succession) by Capt. E. W. Percival in a Percival Mew Gull — average for the whole course 208.91 m.p.h.
