HYDRAULIC JACK for RETRACTABLE UNDERCARRIAGES incorporating SELF-CONTAINED EMERGENCY LOWERING GEAR The jack illustrated is typical of many Dowty Models now being manufactured in quantity for many types of aircraft for the Royal Air Force. The Dowty jack is the only retractable undercarriage actuating unit incorporating a " built-in " device for emergency lowering. The cylinder contains a com pressed air reservoir which provides ample power to operate the jack and lower the under carriage.
