io FLIGHT. ADVERTISEMENTS. MARCH 17, THE BROOKLANDS BULLETIN: 2 IN BROOKLANDS TO-NIGHT -ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON B. S. SMALLMAN, Secrttary. Brookhnds Flying Club. I suppose that one of the most popular programmes in all the B.B.C.'s history must be " IN TOWN TO- NIGHT." Its triumph is its simplicity ; with no need to hunt for THE RADIO TIMES one just tunes in to National at 7.30, knowing that there's always something novel, interesting or diverting to listen to. I want the same feeling to apply to Brooklands on Sunday afternoon. It isn't fair to expect you — interested in aviation though you may be—to study the announcements in the Trade Press week by week, just to find out when you can visit an aero- drome and see something more than the routine of tuition in progress. We, as a Flying Club, believe that we are one of the man-in-the-street's links with civil aviation, and that he has a right to expect from us something progressive, interesting, or out-of-the- ordinary to repay him for his coming down. That, in fact, is the principle we have followed since January of this year. Every week I rack my brains to arrange something worth watching for the next Sunday afternoon. Sometimes it all goes swimmingly, and I feel like the Chief of " IN TOWN TO-NIGHT " him- self ; sometimes there are hitches and my emotions are quite different ! But some topical item never fails to appear as promised—and that programme will proceed regularly every Sunday until the end of September. To give you an idea of our scope, we have already had demonstrations of the Chilton Monoplane, Cygnet, Avian with Tricycle Undercarriage, miniature displays by famous aerobatic pilots, and height judg- ing and landing com- petitions. I shall look forward to meeting you on the Tarmac, any Sunday at * about 3 p.m. Secretary. BROOKLAID flearest Station WESTWEYBRIDGE WEYBRIDGE SURREY . COOLEDGE water soluble cutting oil is playing an important part in aircraft production. The list of BritishAircraft constructors and aero engine manufac- turers given below is sufficient evidence of this. These firms are using COOLEDGE on a variety of tooling operations — turning, grinding, tapping, threading, etc.—it proves suitable for most machine j tool work and for most' metals. Capable of ex- cellent work at high dilution, yet always stable in use, COOLEDGE is the ideal coolant and lubricant. If you are occupied in air-i craft production and have not tried COOLEDGE it will be worth while tt test a sample for yourself j —please make application^ on your business heading.
