This is a very messy job and the best thing is to ask your garage man to do it for you. He has the proper equipment and will know the correct grade of new Shell oil to use. While you are at it, ask him also to refill the Gear Box and back axle. The new Shell oil is refined in England by the most modern and efficient plant in existence. It contains an exclusive oily compound which increases its " slipperiness " yet makes the oil cling to cylinder walls and bearings, preventing wear.
