'Grams: "Metalftd, London" THE BROOKLANDS BULLETIN: 3 A WORD TO OCCASIONAL VISITORS" CAPT. H. DUNCAN DAVIS, A.F.C., Managing Director, Brookiands Aviation Ltd. Regular visitors to Brookiands have been aware for some time— but others ma/ still be interested to learn—that the whole Social and Club side of things here has now been brought under the same control as the flying organisation. Previously, as you may remember, it was mainly in the charge of the Brookiands Aero Club. It doesn't make a great deal of difference, really, for the old arrangements worked well and amicably ; but any advantages that are to be gleaned from centralisation, and the elimination of " dual control," are now at members' disposal! We have already told you about our week-end gatherings —and ail who have visited them seem to agree with us that they are the brightest parties to be found anywhere near London on a Sunday afternoon. Suffice it to say that the same spirit prevails throughout the social side of Brookiands, and we shall jealously maintain our reputation as the brightest club in Aviation ! How to Visit Us Just in case any reader does not know how to get to Brookiands, let me take this opportunity of telling you once again ; the information will probably be useful during the Summer season. Brookiands is really almost a suburb of London—in fact, it takes our members less time to reach the Club than many a City worker's daily journey home. Brookiands has a railway station (WEST Weybridge) only four minutes from the aerodrome, and since the railway people have kindly electrified the line we have a train to and from Waterloo every 30 minutes, doing the journey in just over half an hour. By car, it is a pleasant running distance from Town—only 45 minutes from Piccadilly to the Tarmac, via the Kingston By-pass. In fact, there is no excuse at all for any one failing to come and see us one fine afternoon ! Managing Director.
