PRE-SELECTOR CONTROL The Dowty pre-selector control enables the pilot to set the flaps in any desired position tbroughout their range of travel, not only at the take-off and landing settings but also at any inter mediate angle so that the glide can be steepened or flattened at will. This control also provides automatic synchronisation for several flaps, as for example those fitted to a centre section and two outer wings. If desired, the flaps can blow up under excessive air loads, and are returned to the pre-determined setting when the loads decrease. The pre-selector control has wide application for such services as the operation of radiator shutter jacks, landing lights, etc., where predetermined intermediate settings are required.
