Aircraft constructors are nearly ready with planes which will cross the Atlantic in a few hours on a regular schedule. This new conquest will mark yet another triumph for aluminium, since fully 75% of the weight of each machine will be taken up by light, strong aluminium alloys. At Banbury, the new high-power extrusion press is producing constructional members longer and of larger cross-section than ever before, while at Birmingham, we are forging the largest air-screw blades for British aircraft. In our research laboratories, too, we have been perfecting the aluminium alloys which will give lightness, strength, speed and safety to this new trans-Atlantic air fleet. Please consult our Advisory Service Department for full information on the use of Noral aluminium alloys, in the form of sheet, extrusions, castings and forgings. NORTHERN ALUMINIUM <?o.
