FLIGHT. SUPPLEMENT ii. ADVERTISEMENTS. APRIL 6. 1939. . .or... Caterpillars can't teach us! Here's a little problem for you. Take a sheet of 18 gauge Duralumin in one hand, and with the other cut a piece—any shape you like—out of the middle of it. You can make a small 1* hole to give you a start. The edges of the cut, by the way, must not be burred, nor may the sheet be deformed. There is a solution, but only one—the Desoutter Pneumatic NibWer. It weighs two pounds, and nibbles its way wherever you may guide it at a speed of 10 feet per minute. We were going to claim complete originality for this ingenious tool until somebody pointed out that caterpillars have been doing exactly the same thing with leaves for some millions of years. All right, but we'd like to see a caterpillar trying his teeth on a sheet of steel or duralumin. We will lend you one of these tools if you would like to try it out. There's really nothing like them for anything tougher than cabbage. Desoutter Bros. Ltd. SPECIALISTS IN POWERFUL LIGHTWEIGHT PNEUMATIC AND ELECTRIC TOOLS Dept. B.The Hyde, Hendon, London, N.W.9.
