-14 FLIGHT. ADVERTISEMENTS. APRIL 20, 1939. A range of Timken tapered roller bearings of special light-weight heavy duty type has been developed for use in aircraft designs. These bearings are used for a variety of purposes, including landing and tail wheels, and tail wheel swivels, carrying both radial and thrust loads. Timken tapered roller bearings are also employed on overhead valve rockers, a special pre-adjusted two-row bearing having been developed which eliminates wear and lost motion and thereby assists in the maintenance of engine tune.
