6 FLIGHT. ADVERTISEMENTS. MAY IT, 1939. THE AIR NAVIGATION ACT, 1936 (S.5) The Air Navigation (Licensing of Public Transport) Order, 1938 Serial No. 68 The Air Transport Licensing Authority give notice that on the 12th day of December, 1938, they received from Lundy and Atlantic Coasts Air Lines Limited, of Bridge Buildings, Barn staple, an application for a licence (to remain in force for 7 years) to carry passengers and goods by air on a service between Barnstaple and Cardiff. Particulars of the said application were published by the Authority in " The Aeroplane " on the 21st December, 1938, and in " Flight " on the 22nd December, 1938. On the 28th March, 1939, the Authority reached the decision that no licence should be granted to Lundy and Atlantic Coasts Air Lines Limited for the service referred to above. THE AIR NAVIGATION ACT, 1936 (S.5) The Air Navigation (Licensing of Public Transport) Order, 1938 The Air Transport Licensing Authority give notice that they have been notified by the Com panies concerned of their desire to withdraw the following applications :— Company Serial No. 1. North Eastern Airways Ltd. 2. North Eastern Airwavs Ltd. 43. Channel Air Ferries Ltd. 74 Southern Airwavs Ltd. Service Between Croydon and Perth with intermediate land ings at Doneaster, New castle and Edinburgh or, alternatively, at Don easter, Leeds / Bradford and Newcastle. Between Croydon and Glas gow with intermediate landings at Doncaster and Newcastle or, alter natively, at Doncaster and Edinburgh. Between Penzance and the Isles of Scilly. This ap plication is withdrawn by the present operators on being taken over by Great Western and Southern Air Lines Ltd. under application Serial No. 88. Between Ipswich and Lon don (Ilford) with inter mediate landings at Clacton, Bamsgate and Southend. By Order of the Air Transport Licensing Authority, DENIS CAPEL-DUNN, Secretary. THE AIR NAVIGATION ACT, 1936 (S.5) The Air Navigation (Licensing of Public Transport) Order, 1933 The Air Transport Licensing Authority give notice that they have issued the following licence under Article 9 of the above Order-in-Council :— Serial No. 96 Portsmouth, Southsea and Isle of Wight Aviation Limited, The Airport, Portsmouth. Licence to carry passengers by air between Ports mouth and Heston on the 29th April, 1939, in connection with the Football Association English Cup Final on that date.
