16 Advertisements. f^ am JUNE 22, 1939. FOR FACTORY & MUNICIPAL A.R.P. SHELTERS SEVEN-FOOT STEEL ARCHES THE seven-foot steel-arch type of shelter is the most economic form of shelter per occupant. It embodies the basic strength of the colliery arch, already well-proven under the arduous conditions of withstanding heavy earth-pressures and subsi dence, in conjunction with boldly-ribbed heavy- gauge steel sheeting. With this immense strength, steel arches combine ductility and a great capacity for withstanding heavy loads and shock loads: they come to the site ready for erection; further, all work is open to inspection at every stage. THE BRITISH STEELWORK ASSOCIATION STEEL HOUSE, TOTHILL ST., WESTMINSTER, S.W.1 DESIGNS QUALIFY FOR HOME OFFICE GRANT Where basements are available, they may be reinforced to form shelters. The association's designs, conforming with Home Office requirements, are available on request.
