MAY 2, 1940 Advertisements, xi "Elektron" forgings are finding ever-increasing use in a wide range of industries today because of the lightness, strength, good fatigue properties and exceptional ease of machining for which they are note- worthy, and because they can be forged to exceptionally fine limits. Our illustration shows a selection of components, indicating to some t degree the intricacy which may easily be achieved, and the perfection of the finish. Even better examples are actually in routine production but for obvious reasons we are not permitted to show them. Full co-operation in the production of "Elektron" forgings together with a wealth of technical data is freely at the service of engineers and designers. "Elektron" is the only constructional light metal produced from British ores. ORGINGS ELEKTRON • OECISTIftiD THU| MARK | The forgings illustrated are manufactured in "Elektron" alloy AZ855. Test bars taken from these forgings exhibit the following properties; THE PIONEER MAGNESIUM ALLOYS 0.1% proof stress - - 12 tons per square inch. Maximum stress - - 20 tons per square inch. Elongation - - - - 12% to 15%. Fatigue range - - i 8.9-9.0 tons per square in. (20 million reversals). • Sole Producers and Proprietors of the Trade Mark "Elektron": MAGNESIUM ELEKTRON LIMITED.
