'"THE Detonation Unit and Meter has •~ been developed to provide a means . of detecting and measuring detonation in high-duty aero-engines. The detonation unit is similar in dimensions to a 14 mm. sparking plug and requires no cooling. It is designed to respond to cylinder gas pressure fluctua- tions, but to have no response to engine vibration. Connection'to the meter is made by means of a length of screened ignition cable, this being the only connection required between the engine and meter.
