Awards THE King has been graciously pleased to approve of the under-mentioned awards in recognition of gallantry displayed inflying operations against the enemy: — BAR TO DISTINGUISHED SERVICE ORDER " EMBRY, WING COMMANDER BASIL EDWARD, D.S.O., A.F.C. In one of the R.A.F. raids on Stavanger aerodrome Wing Cdr.Embry led a squadron of aircraft in an attack on the aerodrome and -seaplane base. He successfully completed his task andbrought the whole squadron home safely, despite the failure of one of his engines before he had reached the objective. Two dayslater he led his squadron in another successful attack on Stavanger when valuable photographs were taken. During this flight hesuffered from frostbite. The satisfactory results from these opera- tions were primarily due to the courage, determination and fineleadership of this officer. DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS EDWARDS, FLYING OFFICER WILLIAM HENRY. ,F./O.' Edwards was pilot of one of a number of R.A.F. aircraft that left to attack Stavanger aerodrome and seaplane base earlyin April. The weather was so bad that the other aircraft were compelled to abandon the task, but F./O. Edwards succeeded ingetting through, attacked the objectives and obtained valuable in- formation.
