A QUART in a pint pot We were the first to make the small, light, one-hand Electric Drill Gun. Evidently people thought this a good idea, for now small pistol- grip Electric Drills are springing up like mush- rooms all over the industry. But making an Electric Drill look like a Desoutter Drill Gun is one thing, and making it act like one is quite another pair of shoes. In fact, thanks to the British Patent Laws, it is impossible in at least one respect — the length of Carbon Brushes. Desoutters have a patent on the use of the pistol-grip to house the lower Brush Holder. There is no other place to house full-length Carbon Brushes in a Drill of this sort, and so all other Drills have short Brushes. As the trouble-free life of the tool is proportioned to the length of the Brushes, it follows that Desoutter Drill Guns have about twice the trouble-free life of other tools of this type. Seeing that Desoutter Drill Guns also have former-wound Armatures instead of machine- wound ones, and that they run with a much smaller temperature rise—which gives them a high overload capacity—you can expect to have very low maintenance costs on Desoutter tools. Remember that Desoutter Drill Guns are the only ones that have full-sized innards in a small outer case. The tool we would recommend for general duty work on non-ferrous metals and wood is the type A Electric Drill Gun, Capacity I", speed 2,500 r.p.m. Full load consumption 180 watts. Weight 2\ lbs. Wound for 100/110 volts, 200/220 volts or 230/250 volts D.C. or A.C. (single phase). Other models of ft" to A" capacity, ranging in speed from 5,000 r.p.m. to 450 r.p.m.. including corner drills, are also available. DESOUTTER BROS.
