A. Millar of America's liquid-cooled aircraft engine. Known as type V1710 C15, the cylinder dimensions are 5-5 inches bore by 6 inches stroke, giving a capacity of 1,710 cubic inches or 28-1 litres. A feature is that the supercharger drive shaft extends from the front to the back of the engine. Maximum power altitude is 1,090 b.h.p. at 13,200ft. at 3,000 r.p.m. Dry weight 1,340 lb. = 123 lb. per horse power. Features are described in the accompanying article. r:
