New Curtiss Dive-bomber IT has just been announced in Americathat the Curtiss Wright Corporation has been delivering to the U.S. ArmyAir Force a new dive-bomber known as the A-25. This machine is a sister to theNavy's Curtiss Helldiver and it is claimed to have a higher speed, longerrange and more striking power than any other dive-bomber in use at the presenttime. The A-25 is a mid-wing two-seatermonoplane, with a Wright Cyclone engine of 1,700 h.p., Curtiss electric air-screw and retractable landing gear. A Russia Needs More Aircraft 1R MARSHAL R. M. Achieving the Impossible A CCORDING to a recent statement by•** Mr. Donal Nelson, chairman of America's War Production Board, hiscountry's war production was "achiev- ing the impossible " and they could view1943 with the utmost confidence. It would not be an easy year, headded, for they had many problems of supply, transportation and man-powerto solve, but if the war was to be won in 1944, then all preparations must becomplete by the end of December next. Irish Air Line Wages WHEN applications for wage increasesof certain employees of Aer Lingus Teoranta and Aer Riant a Teoranta (IrishAir Lines) were being considered before the Eire wages tribunal recently, thesecretary to the company (Mr. J. I'.. Dempsey) said that the company was• living on a subsidy, and they were hardly even a free agent to agree to anythingin the way of bonus or otherwise. They prepared estimates, which theysubmitted to the Minister for Industry and Commerce, but he was not so surethat they were in a position to pay.
