THE DUKE OF KENT, K.G., K.T. « m • • • • The Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators of the British Empire was founded in 1929 as the body representative of civil Pilots. The Master of the Guild is the1 MOST HON. THE MARQUESS OF LONDONDERRY, P.C., K.C., M.V.O. The Clerk is MR. LAWRENCE WINGFIELD, M.C., D.F.C. The objects of the Guild are to create and maintain a high standard of technical capacity arid tradition amongst civil air pilots on the lines of the Guilds of the City of London. To that end it, in peacetime, conducted navigation classes, maintained a technical lending library, issued certificates of competency to Instructors and recognised outstanding feats of pilotage and of air navigation skill. It conducted the only Air Pilots and Navigators Employment Bureau and Register recognised by the Air Ministry and employers. In 1934 the Guild instituted a Benevolent Fund, the assets of which now exceed £10,000 for the benefit of civil pilots and navigators and their dependents. The Guild is aware of the interest taken in the future of civil aviation by flying personnel of the Royal Air Force and is anxious to assist them in every possible way. The aims and objects of the Guild will be more fully defined to those mem- bers of the Royal Air Force who are interested and this information can be obtained from the Guild at the following temporary address : Temporary Addiess: 309, CROFTON ROAD, ORPINGTON • KENT The Guild is not now inviting membership from Service personnel. It will register names of Service personnel inter- ested and towards the cessation of hostilities will publicly announce new terms of membership.
