FIVE "EXTRAS," PLANE GOT HOME. The pilot of a Walrus air-sea rescue airplane discovered a Polish bomber crew adrift in their dinghy only a few miles from the enemy coast. The Walrus came down on the water near them and offered to take two home and come back for the others. Before he could make himself understood all seven of the Poles had clambered aboard the airplane, so the pilot decided to risk it and took off with a total complement of nine. Despite his load, he made a success; ful landing at his home base. (Evening Standard, 12-4-43.) VIC KERS-ARMSTRONGS LIMITED Head Office : VICKERS HOUSE • BROADWAY • LONDON W 1
