AUGUST IOTH, 1944 FLIGHT Advertisements. 13 On the fc ONE hand... A he slightly surrealist note in the picture indicates a problem. Ten years ago we introduced to British Industry the best Stop Nut in existence —the Simmonds fibre Stop Nut. It was hailed as an immense success and hundreds of millions of them have been and are still being supplied to many industries. But to-day the Simmonds Nut faces strong com petition from the same stables, if we may use such a term to describe our somewhat modern Works and Offices. Why ? Because we wouldn't leave well alone. Five years ago we started designing a different kind of Stop Nut—with a metal diaphragm—instead of the fibre insert. The result was the Pinnacle Nut. Now, which of them a designer should choose is a matter for him. But what is important is that he has the two to choose from. Two first-class Stop Nuts, both produced by Simmonds for the simple reason that we look, and shall always look, for new and better ways of doing a job. SIMMONDS STOP ^&W and ways NUTS Simmorids Aerocessories Limited, Great West Road, London. A Company of the Simmonds Group. SIMMONDS LONDON • MELBOURNE • MONTREAL • PARIS • NEW YORK • LOS ANGELES 6
