mfr Ten airmen saved off Nazi Coast 150-mile Launch Rescue Trip Ten airmen, the entire crew of a Flying Fortress which crashed in the sea, were taken on hoard a high-speed launch of the Air-Sea Rescue Service just off the Coast of Occupied Europe. The launch raced 150 miles lroin its base through heavv seas to reach them. The •Fortress returning from Friday's mass raid on Berlin with two engines knocked out, "ditched ' in the North Sea. One gunner was injured, hut all the (lew scrambled safely into their dinghies. Stafl'-Sergl. Kussell E. Calely, jn., ol Aecdham, Mas-., said: "'On Satur day afternoon one of Coastal Command's lifeboat - carriers dropped us a lifeboat complete with motors. We soon had the motors going and a course set for England. During the night, however, we lost contact with the pilot overhead and as dawn approached we had only enough petrol to last us a few minutes.
