R A.F.V.R THE KING has been graciously pleased to approve the following award with effect from August 31st, 1944. in recognition of gallantry dis- plaved in flying operations against the enemy in the South-West Pacific area:—_ Distinguished Service Order Act. Air Comdre. F. R. W. SCHERGER. A.F.C, R.A.A.F. THE KING has been graciously pleased to approve the following award in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Italy: — Distinguished Service Order Lt (Act. Capt.) A. GREVILLE-BELL, Army Air Corps. THE KING has been graciously pleased to ap prove the following awards in recognition of gallantry displayed in flying operations against the enemy i—" Distinguished Service Order Ad. Wing Cdr. K D. CREW. D.F.C.. R.A.F.V.R.. No. 96 Sqn.—Wing Commander Crew continues to display the highest standard of skill, courage and leadership. In air lighting he has destroyed 13 enemy aircraft and damaged several more. With the advent of the flying bomb attacks on this country. Wing Commander Crew displayed great skill and perseverance in devising tactics to meet the menace. As a Tesult, he shot down numerous flying bombs, whilst other members of his squad ron took a heavy toll of them. This officer has commanded the squadron with outstanding success. Act. Wing Cdr. P. B. N. DAVIS, R.A.F.V.R., J^o. 299 Sqn.—This officer has completed very many dangerous and difficult sorties and has dis played skill and devotion to duty of a high order. He is a forceful and gallant leader whose ex ample has contributed in a large way to the operational efficiency of the squadron he commands. Bar to Distinguished Flying Cross Fit. Lt. K. J. GORDON. D.F.C, R.A.F.V.R.. No. 105 Sqn.—Since being awarded the D.F.C., Fit. Lt. Gordon has taken part in many further attacks on heavily defended and vital targets in Germany. As a navigator his work has been of the highest standard and he has always displayed outstanding courage and endurance. Act. Fit. Lt. J. H. CRABB. D.F.C.. R.A.A.F.. No. 109 Sqn.—This officer has taken part in many operational sortus. He is a navigator of high merit and his technical *kill has largely contributed to the successes achieved P/O R. N. MVLLIHS, D.F.C.. R.A.A.F.. No. 460 Sqn.—Since the award of the D F.C., P/O. Mullins has continued to display great skill and devotion to duty. During June. 1944, he was de tailed to attack an objective, in France. Despite extremely adverse weather he located and bombed the target, securing excellent results. By skilful airmansnip and great courage he has pressed home his attacks, causing much damage to the enemy's production resources. Sqn. Ldr. D. H. KENNEY, D.F.C., A.F.C., R.A.F., No. 429 Sqn.—This officer has completed a large number of operational missions since the award of the D.F.C. Throughout his flying career he has, at all times, displayed the greatest fortitude and courage in pressing home his attacks and has recently been employed as a most efficient flight and squadron commander.
